Non-Medical Switching of Ostomy Supplies Campaign

For several years UOAA has been advocating to stop the practice of non-medical switching of ostomy supplies. Please refer to UOAA’s Board of Director’s official position statement here. In 2024 ostomates helped UOAA answer this question: What is the impact of non-medical switching on the ostomy community?

We released the results of our findings in a national report and also summarized these results in an infographic.

We encourage ostomates to utilize a new resource to learn what you should know about non-medical switching and ways to help prevent it from happening to you. Also if this effort is important to you, please help UOAA advocate by periodically sharing the graphic images in the social media toolkit below to educate and raise awareness on your social media platforms.
